Sinus Augmentation | Frisco, TX | 972-712-5530
What is Sinus Augmentation?
Sinus Augmentation is an oral procedure where bone is added to the upper jaw where the molars and premolars reside. The idea of the procedure is to give the jaw the ability to support the dental implant base by relocating the sinus membrane upward creating room for the bone.
How is it done?
Sinus Augmentation is done from inside the patient’s mouth by creating an incision into the gum. Once the membrane is carefully removed, the bone graft will be inserted. The result is stimulation of bone growth, which will help support the dental implants.
With success rates over 95%, sinus augmentation is very predictable. Post-operation recovery allows for 6-10 months of proper healing before the dental implants are placed. In the event sinus augmentation fails to result in adequate bone for the dental implants, more bone can be regenerated through a second sinus augmentation procedure during the time of your implant placement.
